North County Democratic Club
Where Democracy Lives

Hello NCDC Members and Friends,
The Florida Legislature Special Session D will occur from Tuesday April 28-May 1, 2026. You can watch it all here.
The purpose is three-fold:
-
to redraw congressional maps
-
to propose an AI "Bill of Rights"
-
to propose a "medical freedom measure regarding vaccine opt-outs.
Noticably missing from the agenda is a budget and the much-anticipated amendment to reduce property taxes.
Since the budget is due before June 30, a different special session is anticipated for that. And... another special session needs to occur before August 4, for any property tax cut amendment to appear on the November ballot. The lawmakers have their work cut out for them this summer. And so do we, if we hope for a positive outcome.
The time is now to call our representatives and publish our letters in the Post. Other ways to help:

That's why NCDC is committed to voter education and voter registration.
